A woman with an infant allegedly shoved an older passenger off an MBTA bus in Roxbury around 1 p.m. on Sept. 8. Cellphone and surveillance footage showed the injured rider falling to the pavement and lying sprawled on the sidewalk. Transit Police suggested the suspect could be charged with assault and battery on an elderly person causing injury. Transit Police asked the public for help identifying the suspect and later announced her arrest. Transit Police have not publicly identified the woman and provided limited additional information. MBTA leadership praised the police response and the bus driver for notifying authorities and ensuring medical care.
