Protesters will convene in Boston's Copley Square at 4:30 p.m. on July 17 before marching to Liberty Mall on Boston Common for a rally. Tens of thousands are expected to protest in Boston, Worcester, Springfield, Hyannis, and nearly 50 other Massachusetts cities in response to President Trump's policies. The Good Trouble Lives On organization urges Americans to advocate for justice, focusing on mutual aid and honoring John Lewis's legacy, coinciding with the fifth anniversary of his death.
"Tens of thousands of people will take to the streets" in Boston, Worcester, Springfield, Hyannis, and nearly 50 Mass. cities in all "to advocate for justice" in response to President Donald Trump's "destructive budget."
The Good Trouble Lives On organization called all Americans to action, and the rallies will take place throughout the country, advocating for justice and mutual aid in the wake of political challenges.
During the rally, the Community Health Network of North Central Massachusetts will collect donations of socks, individually wrapped snacks, and unused medical supplies for unhoused populations in Eastern Mass.
The rallies nationwide are in memoriam of the late Civil Rights activist and former Georgia Congressman John Lewis, taking place exactly five years after his passing.
