A three-vehicle crash occurred on Turnpike Street in Easton around 2:15 a.m. on February 27. A disabled dump truck was stopped in the southbound lane when a Ford F-350 struck it from behind, trapping the pickup's driver. Moments later, a Toyota Camry collided with the F-350 and caught fire. Patrol Officer Dean Soucie arrived first and found two vehicles engulfed in flames. With assistance from two bystanders at the scene, Soucie broke the pickup truck's window, freed the trapped driver, and carried him to safety. The 78-year-old driver from Raynham sustained a dislocated hip and serious but non-life-threatening injuries. The Camry's driver escaped uninjured. The crash remains under investigation.
