Briefly

Boston's homicide rate for the year is at 24, a significant decrease from last year's 37, with the city on track for its lowest number since 1957.
Mayor Michelle Wu emphasized the necessity of communal responsibility in achieving these results, noting, 'We know that there's more work to do... everyone has a part in community safety.'
Boston Police Commissioner Michael Cox highlighted a 14 percent decrease in gunfire incidents compared to 2023, and a 37 percent decrease compared to the five-year average.
Cox proclaimed, 'In the entire time that I've been a police officer... the city has never been safer. Period,' marking a significant decline in shooting victims in recent years.
