Over a dozen 'illegal' mopeds and scooters impounded in Fenway area
Briefly

State Police impounded more than a dozen allegedly illegal mopeds and scooters in Boston on Tuesday night. Troopers Christopher Bolster and Russell Lloyd rounded up 14 vehicles from the Fenway neighborhood around 8 p.m. The drivers themselves, whom police eventually cited, were inside a restaurant having a meal at the time, State Police said.
All 14 vehicles were found to be improperly registered or were being operated by someone without a license, according to State Police.
Mayor Michelle Wu and Boston law enforcement are collaborating to combat the improper use of mopeds and scooters following citizen complaints. They have called on food delivery companies to enforce safe driving practices for their drivers using these vehicles.
Officials have warned of strict consequences for illegal activity related to scooter and moped use in Boston. Violators may face fines or license revocation for unsafe practices.
