MBTA video shows man throwing 'temper tantrum' and blocking traffic after missing bus

"Around noon on May 6, a man stepped into Mt. Auburn Street to block an MBTA bus after failing to catch it, according to an X post from MBTA Transit Police."

"The situation escalated when the man engaged in an argument with a 33-year-old passenger who wanted him to get out of the street, police said. The passenger, who was discovered to have active arrest warrants, allegedly threatened the man with a knife and is now facing charges, according to transit police."

"In a subsequent X post on Tuesday, transit police said the individual who blocked the bus will also be criminally charged. "His temper tantrum tied up traffic in a major street in Cambridge and placed the safety of the #MBTA operator & others at risk," the post reads."

Transit police reported that the passenger had active arrest warrants and allegedly threatened the man with a knife. The passenger was arrested and charged. Transit police later stated that the man who blocked the bus would also face criminal charges. Police said the behavior tied up traffic on a major Cambridge street and put the safety of the MBTA operator and others at risk.
