"We were very lucky, that's all I can say. If it had hit the house, it would have taken out the whole front."
"The bus hit two parked vehicles, which in turn were propelled forward along with the bus and into the house. According to Sullivan, the bus driver claimed to have lost control on black ice."
An MBTA bus swerved off Playstead Road in Medford around 1:44 a.m. Sunday, crossing a front yard and striking multiple parked vehicles before coming to rest near a home's front steps. The 98-year-old homeowner, asleep inside, escaped injury as the vehicles stopped approximately one foot from her front window. MBTA Transit Police confirmed the bus hit two parked cars, which were propelled forward into the house. The bus driver attributed the loss of control to black ice conditions. An investigation is underway, with authorities declining to provide additional details at this time.
