"When first responders arrived, they found a blue Honda Civic that had crashed into a tractor-trailer, Bristol County District Attorney Thomas M. Quinn III said in a statement Thursday. Police observed a white semi-trailer without a tractor attached in the breakdown lane, along with a red Volvo tractor connected to another semi-trailor, Quinn said."
"Fire crews provided medical care to the occupant of the sedan and transported him to Sturdy Memorial Hospital with serious injuries, the fire department said. The driver of the Honda Civic, identified as 43-year-old Chad Askew of Mansfield, was pronounced dead shortly after arriving at the hospital, Quinn announced."
"Massachusetts State Police said they issued an alert to area law enforcement for a man who reportedly fled the crash scene wearing shorts and boots. As of Thursday afternoon, the man had not yet been found, police said."
A fatal crash occurred on Interstate 95 North in Attleboro near Exit 4 around 5:20 a.m. Wednesday. A blue Honda Civic struck a tractor-trailer, resulting in serious injuries to the sedan's driver.
