A man intentionally stepped onto the tracks at the outbound Red Line platform in South Station. Transit Police Superintendent Richard Sullivan confirmed the man's death due to the injuries he sustained.
Regular train service resumed, and shuttle buses replaced trains between the Kendall and JFK/UMass stops following the incident.
