Hundreds of Golden Retrievers join meet-up to honor Spencer, Boston Marathon's official dog
Briefly

Organized by MA Golden Meetups, the event included a walk, 'social hour,' and fundraising through the sale of gold and blue tees and bandanas. 20% of sales went toward canine cancer research.
Golden retrievers, prone to cancer, gathered with more than 600 people and 350 dogs to support Morris Animal Foundation's research on hemangiosarcoma and fight cancer in the breed.
Spencer, who battled spleen cancer and liver mass, became known for cheering on marathon runners. The event aimed to honor his memory and combat cancer in golden retrievers.
