Boston College hires UConn assistant Luke Murray, son of actor Bill Murray, as basketball coach
""In Luke Murray, we have found a leader who does not just understand the modern landscape of college basketball, he has helped define it.""
""His role in building a national championship caliber program, his sophisticated offensive vision, and his relentless pursuit of excellence make him the perfect fit.""
""The Eagles have been buried in the supersized ACC for more than a decade, with a 10th-place finish in 2022-23 their highest since the league expanded from 12 to 15 teams.""
Boston College appointed Luke Murray, a UConn assistant, as the new head coach for its men's basketball team, which has not reached the NCAA Tournament in 17 years. Murray replaces Earl Grant, who had a losing record during his tenure. With experience from UConn, where he contributed to two national championships, and previous roles at Louisville and Xavier, Murray is expected to bring a modern approach to the program. The Eagles have struggled in the Atlantic Coast Conference, finishing near the bottom in recent seasons.
