3, including one juvenile, charged in Boston carjacking

"The incident occurred on Nov. 29. At around 8:30 p.m., Boston police officers responded to a report of an armed carjacking at the intersection of Columbia Road and Quincy Street, near the Grove Hall neighborhood. They were told that one suspect pointed a gun at the victim and that a second suspect was armed, according to the Boston Police Department. The suspects fled the scene with the stolen vehicle. It was later found near 14 Abbotsford St. and towed."

"By Dec. 16, investigators had identified multiple suspects, including a 17-year-old boy. Police put out a warrant for his arrest, and he was located and detained near 10 Abbotsford St. He faces charges of armed carjacking, carrying a firearm without a license, assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, larceny, and conspiracy, according to the BPD. Officials were working to secure a search warrant for the apartment where he was found. He was expected to be arraigned in Boston Juvenile Court, and his name is not being released because of his age."

"As officers worked to arrest the 17-year-old, another suspect at the location on Abbotsford Street started to "film and taunt" officers, the BPD said in a release. Detectives determined that he was also allegedly involved in the carjacking, and he was quickly taken into custody as well. This second suspect was identified as Aamir Sylvia, 19, of Dorchester. He faces charges of armed carjacking, larceny, and conspiracy. Sylvia was arraigned in Roxbury Municipal Court on Wednesday and pleaded not guilty to all charges, according to court documents. He was ordered held on $500 cash bail, which he posted. Sylvia was released on conditions that he have no contact with the alleged victim or the other defendants involved in the case."
