Maurice Sendak delights children with new book, 12 years after his death
Briefly

Ten Little Rabbits is a posthumous picture book by Maurice Sendak featuring Mino the Magician and a mischievous group of rabbits. Sendak's illustrations in the book showcase his ability to capture a variety of emotions.
Well, he's Maurice... He didn't look like most of the other boys in children's books in the 1950s.
Sendak's characters, including Mino and Max from Where the Wild Things Are, often resemble himself and have a distinct Jewish-European look. The lack of heirs allowed Caponera and Weinburg to bring Sendak's unpublished work to the public.
The characters of my earlier books are really only sort of cockamamie self-portraits... Unfortunately, I look like Max and the Wild Things, as children tell you in their brazen way.
