Lauren Sánchez expressed her emotional journey with dyslexia, sharing how a community college teacher's encouragement helped her discover her passion for writing despite her challenges.
Sánchez mentioned, "It's for the 8-year-old self me, who really felt dumb. I sat in the back of the class... they kind of pushed me along in public school."
She recalled a transformative moment when her professor said, "You're not dumb. You just can't spell," leading to her dyslexia diagnosis and her desire to write.
Sánchez highlighted the support she received, stating, "Every time, I get really emotional" when reflecting on her journey and how writing was a meaningful outlet.
