Playdate makes video game releases feel like a TV series with the release of season 2
Briefly

The Playdate games console continues to thrive with the announcement of Season Two, set to deliver 22 new games from various developers over six weeks. Despite initial setbacks due to the pandemic, Panic, Playdate's developer, aspires to create a communal gaming experience reminiscent of a TV series. Notable titles include Fulcrum Defender from Subset Games, designed as a replayable challenge, and Taria & Como, a unique physics-based platformer. Over 70,000 devices and 290,000 games have been sold, evidencing the console's growing popularity.
"I wanted to make a replayable experience that starts off slow and relaxing, but gradually ramps up until it becomes frantic chaos," said Jay Ma of Subset Games.
The latest batch includes 22 new games, released bi-weekly over six weeks, fulfilling the original dream of a seasonal experience for Playdate owners.
Playdate Season 2 aims to provide a mystery game experience akin to a TV series, a concept that was hindered by pandemic-era logistics.
New games will come from notable developers, including Subset Games, known for Into the Breach and FTL, ensuring high-quality and engaging content.
