Blessed Geza, a Zimbabwean war veteran, has resurfaced after a month in hiding, urging unity ahead of protests scheduled for March 31. He openly criticized President Emmerson Mnangagwa for his failure to improve the economy and for engaging in corruption. In a video, Geza expressed confidence amidst facing charges and made a note of his protection by supporters. Additionally, he highlighted concerns over the arrest of journalist Blessed Mhlanga, suggesting that such actions are attempts to suppress democratic voices in Zimbabwe.
We will not be silenced while the country is being pillaged. We are worried also about the arrest of journalist Blessed Mhlanga. We see this as an attempt to silence democratic voices.
[President] Mnangagwa knows where I am. He is just a coward to approach me, but he knows exactly where I am. I am in the middle of people, being protected by people because I stand for people's wishes.
