In celebration of Black History Month, Union Station is hosting two exhibitions featuring seven Black artists. The first exhibition, titled "A Transit Through Time," showcases six artists and is co-curated with MakeRoom Inc., while the second, "Nothing More, Nothing Less," by Jordan Sook, presents various butterfly-themed artworks. Sook emphasizes the importance of self-expression and colorful art amidst a grey world, aiming to engage daily commuters with immersive experiences. Admission is free, and the exhibitions run until August 2025, combining artistry with deep messages regarding transformation and community connection.
Art and Black history are synonymous ... it's important to show freedom of expression during this time, when the world can feel grey, adding that splash of colour and extra life is really important.
What I really love about this exhibition is that it's connecting to people in their daily commute, they get to become immersed and part of the art in that way.
