The second iteration of birtherism, directed at Kamala Harris, who would be America's second Black president, is similarly ideological. But it tells a different story, one in which Black identity confers an unfair advantage over white people.
But the attack is also a smear because Harris did not recently become Black; Trump recently decided to pretend to be confused about it.
