Judge Jacqueline Corley rejected Tesla's motion to dismiss allegations of racial harassment at its Fremont factory by the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission.
The Commission alleged that racial slurs, insults, and anti-Black graffiti, including swastikas and nooses, were pervasive at Tesla's workplace.
Corley ruled that the Commission's factual allegations were sufficient to support the claim of a hostile work environment at Tesla.
The judge also highlighted the Commission's claims that Tesla retaliated against Black workers who complained about racial harassment by firing them or reassigning them to more demanding tasks.
