These cards contain crucial information about the 4th and 5th amendments, translated into multiple languages for at-risk communities. The initiative aims to educate individuals about their legal rights during potential encounters with immigration enforcement. Committee leaders are also seeking to collaborate with local organizations to broaden the outreach of this important information.
Kulik said, "We're concerned about what's happening here in this country. [People] don't always know what their rights are... so we wanted to make sure that people were aware of what their rights were."
Leming said, "I'm hoping that it will get some awareness out about this initiative so that, if folks know about any community organizations that might have access to vulnerable communities, they could start to give these out."
