LAPD Attacks "No Kings" Protesters in Los Angeles
Briefly

During the 'No Kings' protests in Los Angeles, over 40,000 demonstrators gathered against federal immigration policies and the presence of the National Guard. Although initially festive and political, the event escalated when police employed tear gas, batons, and non-lethal projectiles to disperse the crowd after issuing a dispersal order. Mayoral and gubernatorial leaders condemned both the National Guard's involvement and the protesters' actions. The protests highlighted tensions related to immigration enforcement and government authority, with widespread criticism of law enforcement's heavy-handed response.
On Saturday morning tens of thousands of protesters gathered in downtown Los Angeles as part of the nationwide 'No Kings' demonstrations. Organizers estimated there were over 40,000 people in the crowd.
Around 4pm, the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) issued a dispersal order, but kettled people in so they could not leave. Then, the sheriffs and cops fired tear gas and pushed the protesters, unprovoked.
