Judge grants bond to undocumented migrant allegedly framed in Trump threat case
Briefly

Ramon Morales-Reyes, an undocumented migrant, may be released from custody after a judge determined he was wrongly accused of threatening President Trump. A different suspect has confessed to the crime, misleadingly framing Morales-Reyes as the author of the threat. Supporters rallied for him, underscoring his character, as expressed by his daughter, who insisted he is incapable of such actions. Meanwhile, the Department of Homeland Security remains committed to enforcing immigration policies, though it has not commented on whether it will appeal the bond decision.
The judge says a different suspect has now confessed to sending that threatening letter to the president while making it look like it was written by Morales-Reyes.
"Everyone that knows my dad knows, right away, that he's not capable of writing something like that," she said.
The Department of Homeland Security said it would continue to fight for the arrest, detention and removal of immigrants without legal status.
Morales-Reyes can now be released from custody if he posts bond following a judge's ruling.
