Five years after George Floyd's death and the riots that caused extensive damage, local tensions remain high in Minneapolis. The Post reported a confrontation between Edwin Reed, a local businessman, and Floyd's aunt, Angela Harrelson. Reed expressed frustration over the financial aid that was promised but never reached residents like him. He accused activists of exploiting Floyd's name for personal gain, claiming that many outsiders profited while local businesses suffered. His remarks echoed a broader sentiment of disillusionment with the handling of funds aimed at helping the community.
It's unbelievable what happened here. All those activists who claimed to be activists were only trying to gain fame off George Floyd's name. People were coming into town and making money by selling shirts and hats and having these fake protests while those of us from here suffered like collateral damage. It made me so sick.
I guess you don't know what I know! I never saw them even one time. Everyone was just capitalizing off a dead man. That's what happened here and that's what no one will tell you.
