A federal judge ordered Alameda County DA to review all death penalty cases over racial discrimination in jury selection from handwritten notes of prosecutors from a 31-year-old murder case.
The notes indicate a pattern of serious misconduct in excluding Black and Jewish jurors. Price acknowledged finding notes showing race-based exclusion in Dykes' case.
Lead prosecutor in the case, Colton Carmine, assisted by Morris Jacobson, allegedly identified and excluded Jewish and Black people from the jury pool based on race and ethnicity.
