February is recognized as Black History Month, celebrating the significant contributions of Black Canadians. Despite a QuickBooks study in 2024 indicating that 74% of Black entrepreneurs feel more supported than in previous years, many still struggle with credit card debts and access to resources. To address these challenges, various organizations, including the Calgary Black Chambers and the Black Entrepreneurship Alliance, offer valuable resources such as mentorship programs and funding opportunities. The reintroduction of the resource guide for Black entrepreneurs aims to bridge existing gaps and empower their journeys in entrepreneurship.
February marks Black History Month, a time to honour the invaluable contributions of Black Canadians to our communities.
In 2024, a QuickBooks study revealed that while 74% of Black entrepreneurs reported increased support compared to 2020, significant gaps remain.
To help bridge this gap, we’re reintroducing one of our most sought-after resource guides: Resources for Black Entrepreneurs in Canada.
Calgary Black Chambers supports young Black and BIPOC entrepreneurs through their student mentorship, scholarship, and fellowship programs.
