In a dramatic incident during stage 2 of the Étoile de Bessèges, rider Marc Brustenga lost control of his bike due to a punctured tubeless tire just before the finish. As he attempted to pass Sam Bennett, the tire failed, causing an explosive release of sealant and resulting in Brustenga crashing into barriers. Fortunately, he was the only rider involved in the incident and completed the race despite sustaining multiple abrasions and injuries, according to his team.
