Tom Pidcock is adding the UCI MTB World Cup round in Crans Montana to his schedule before the Tour de France to maintain his off-road skills while focusing on longer road efforts.
Pidcock believes road and mountain bike training are interchangeable, aiming to get enough volume for the Tour de France while keeping his skills intact.
Despite a crash in Itzulia Basque Country, Pidcock won the Amstel Gold Race before a break. He triumphed in the Nove Mesto MTB World Cup by beating notable competitors.
Pidcock's current training regime mirrors his approach before the Tokyo Olympics, combining road racing with limited off-road events leading up to the Olympics.
