Will Bjergfelt and Matt Richardson from the GB Cycling Team achieved world records at the Konya Velodrome in Turkey. Bjergfelt set the C5 class World Hour Record by covering 51.471km, while Richardson completed the Flying 200 at an average speed of 80.5km/h in a time of 8.941 seconds. Charlie Tanfield, however, did not meet Filippo Ganna's World Hour Record of 56.792km. The athletes used the same model bike, the Hope HB.T, which will become illegal by UCI regulations starting January 2027 due to fork and seat stay width rules.
Bjergfelt covered 51.471km, and Richardson completed the 200 at an average of 80.5km/h in a time of 8.941 seconds, succeeding in their attempts.
The bike they used, the Hope HB.T, will be deemed illegal by the UCI from January 2027 due to new rules on internal fork width and seat stays.
