Thibau Nys, the young Belgian cyclist, is gearing up for his Grand Tour debut in 2024 with Lidl-Trek. Uncertain of whether his first challenge will be the Tour de France or the Vuelta a España, Nys is currently focused on the upcoming cyclocross World Championships before transitioning to road racing. His ambitious schedule for 2025 includes major races leading up to his anticipated Grand Tour entry. Team director Steven de Jongh believes the Tour suits Nys, given his strengths on punchy finishes.
In two weeks, the [cyclocross] World Championships are coming, and then I'll take a break of around one week before I start building up again and ride my first road race at the GP Indurain.
Yes, for sure, it will probably be the Tour or the Vuelta. Selection will depend on how I perform in the Spring and what the sponsors and team see best.
