The Moab Ho Down started in 2006 to fill the gap left by previous festivals. Initially hosted by the Chile Pepper Bike Shop, it quickly gained popularity thanks to its vibrant community-driven events, including a costume party.
In 2010, the Ho Down evolved into a fundraiser for the Moab bike park, adding racing categories and community involvement that would help gather funds for enhancements and broaden its appeal.
By 2012, the Moab bike park underwent significant improvements, thanks to contributions from the Ho Down festival. The event continued to grow, incorporating new attractions like movie nights and pumptrack competitions.
The festival's return after a four-year hiatus due to the pandemic excites co-founder Tracy Bentley as she highlights the event's strong community ties and its role in supporting local mountain biking initiatives.
