Storied Team Says Goodbye to World Cup Racing After 14 Years
Briefly

After 14 years, the Madison Saracen Factory Race Team, a monumental success in downhill mountain biking, has announced its closure, but hopes for the Saracen brand's return remain.
'When we acquired the Saracen brand, it was a bit of damaged goods, and we completely re-engineered the bikes from scratch—from the ground up,' said Dominic Langan, CEO of Madison.
'We want to make affordable bikes for everyday racers... We haven't given up on racing. That's for sure,' Langan added, expressing hope for the Saracen brand's future in competitive cycling.
Phil Atwil and Manon Carpenter's beginnings in the Junior World Cups in 2012 marked the team's growth from a humble athlete development group to a World Cup-level factory team.
