Fairhaven Bicycle transitioned from a full-service bicycle retailer to include alpine and nordic skis, then snowboards, before fully committing to cycling. The shop played a significant role in the growth of snowboarding at Mt. Baker Ski Area.
They were the first in Whatcom County to carry snowboards and introduced mountain bikes like Stumpjumper in the early 1980s. Despite challenges, the shop has evolved and remained dedicated to cycling.
