Riders Sheepishly Answer When Asked How Many Bikes They Own
Briefly

An old joke in the bike world is the N+1 formula to calculate how many bikes riders should own. N is the number of bikes you currently own, making the answer always one more than the current fleet. Though it is a form of self-mockery, it holds more than a grain of truth for many riders.
Probably every rider has been in a conversation with a boss, mother-in-law, or neighbor who simply cannot understand why the need for so many bikes exists. Though it can be hard to justify to your spouse, it is very easy to rack up a high number of bikes.
Thankfully for our pride and unfortunately for our wallets, there is always an acquaintance who has more bikes for us to say, 'See, I'm not as bad as Fred!'
