Revel Bikes Refuses to Break Its Promise - Even After Carbon Partner's Collapse
"With the closure of CSS Composites, many brands are left hanging when it comes to honoring the lifetime warranty on their wheels made by CSS Composites. CSS manufactured wheels for Revel Bikes, Trek Bicycles, Chris King, Evil Bicycles, and, under their own component brand, Forge+Bond. With so many brands using this thermoplastic carbon for their wheels, many were left wondering how this situation would be resolved, and Revel Bikes has found a solution rather quickly."
"For Revel Bikes, fulfilling its lifetime warranty for the original carbon wheels is a big deal. The brand wanted to remedy it quickly and has done so. Following the sudden closure of CSS / Forge+Bond, Revel has announced a partnership with Industry Nine to guarantee warranty coverage for all riders with wheels made by CSS or Forge+Bond. "We were truly bummed to hear the news about CSS/Forge + Bond."
CSS Composites closed, leaving many brands with wheels made from its thermoplastic carbon uncertain about lifetime warranty fulfillment. Revel Bikes moved quickly to secure warranty coverage for its customers by partnering with Industry Nine to guarantee coverage for Revel wheels manufactured by CSS or Forge+Bond. Revel pledged to honor its lifetime warranty commitments and credited Industry Nine for stepping in to help. Revel Wheels were among the first mountain bike products produced at the CSS factory, and the two companies collaborated for years on composite rim technology. Owners of damaged Revel carbon wheels now have two options to restore rideability, including a rim-only replacement priced at $175 USD.
