'Nothing is set for my future' - Elia Viviani leaves the door open to race in 2026 and target 100 wins after maiden Lotto victory
Briefly

Elia Viviani, after 15 years since his first professional victory, won stage 7 of the 2025 Tour of Turkey, reflecting on past challenges and current achievements. He recalled a chaotic final during the race, which saw a crash from a rival's lead-out train. Viviani, now 36, expressed his gratitude to Lotto for the opportunity amid uncertainties following Ineos Grenadiers. He hinted at continuing his career if he approaches 100 wins, while also appreciating the Tour of Turkey's organization and conditions for riders.
"It was a chaotic final because the lead-out train of André Greipel crashed in the last corner, one guy attacked and I followed him," the Italian said.
"Aged 36, it was not easy. I always said I wanted to do one more year, maybe two if I'm still competitive and today I showed that I am."
"Especially if I get close to 100 wins but I don't get them this year," he said.
"The organisation is good, riders are treated well with nice hotels and nice places on the seaside, I always enjoy being here."
