Blake Agnoletto celebrated a significant victory at the Powercor Melbourne to Warrnambool cycling race, supported by his Team Brennan p/b TP32, which had notable history and experience. Former champion Tristan Saunders played a crucial role in setting up the pace during the final kilometers, alleviating some pressure for Agnoletto. Despite immense nerves, Agnoletto executed a perfect sprint finish, showcasing the importance of teamwork and personal resilience. This win was particularly emotional for both Agnoletto and coach Tim Decker, highlighting the depth of their connection to this prestigious race and its challenges.
I knew Tristan would do anything he could physically to help set it up, which he did. But honestly, I was probably the most nervous coming into a sprint finish that I've ever been in my life.
We were in a good situation, having two in the last five, and having ridden up this straight a few times myself it was a little bit emotional.
