Lotto-Dstny confirmed the early termination of Maxim Van Gils' contract, allowing him to pursue opportunities with other teams for the 2025 cycling season.
‘Maxim came into our team as a young talent, he’s one of the great examples of our DNA to give chances to young riders and help them grow into the best possible rider,’ Lotto-Dstny CEO Stéphane Heulot expressed.
Despite a new contract signed earlier in the year after impressive races, Van Gils sought an agreement to leave Lotto-Dstny for better prospects.
With Van Gils 14th in the UCI rankings and free agent status, Lotto-Dstny must fill a significant gap in their roster amid a competitive market.
