Lime avoids ban after last minute deal that removes 250 bikes from streets
Briefly

The bike hire company Lime has reached an agreement with Brent Council to avoid a borough-wide ban, reducing its fleet size from 750 to 500 bikes.
Under the terms of the deal, Lime's fleet in Brent will be slashed by a third, with measures including speed controls in busy areas and a two-hour removal policy for incorrectly parked bikes.
Cllr Krupa Sheth emphasized the importance of safety in active travel, noting that the council has secured significant improvements from Lime and expects to see real changes.
With the new agreement, Lime must also create an email address for reporting poorly parked bikes, and increase the presence of cyclist patrollers and parking wardens.
