Laurens Sweeck of Crelan-Corendon triumphed at Parkcross in Maldegem, winning his third race in the series and second of the season. He narrowly defeated Eli Iserbyt (Pauwels Sauzen-Cibel), who finished second, while Niels Vandeputte (Alpecin-Deceuninck) took third place, contributing to a strong Belgian presence in the top results. The race featured a leading group of nine riders that split in the last two laps on a challenging wet course. Sweeck's strategic riding allowed him to maintain a strong position throughout, especially after a disappointing finish at the Cyclo-cross World Championships.
My idea today was to ride flat out, but every time I looked back I saw ten men on my wheel. After that I decided to always sit in second or third position so that I could always be attentive. I succeeded in that. This makes me very happy, especially because Sunday was such a disappointment.
Sweeck edged Iserbyt and won for a third time at Parkcross in Maldegem, confirming his second victory of the season in the Exact Cross series.
