'It's the dose that kills, not the gas itself' - Carbon monoxide rebreather company responds to MPCC ban call
Briefly

The Movement for Credible Cycling (MPCC) has strongly advised against the use of carbon monoxide rebreathers, pointing out significant health risks and potential misuse of the gas.
Some media have reported a likely misuse of this potentially lethal gas. The aim of its use would be to create artificial hypoxia by inhaling it in (unknown) doses, thus mimicking the effects of exertion at altitude.
Carsten Lundby, CEO of Detalo Health, noted that while he agrees with the advised caution against carbon monoxide inhalation for increasing hemoglobin mass, further clarification is required on what should be banned.
The complexity and artificiality of creating physiological changes using carbon monoxide has fostered significant concern, emphasizing that health risks could be potentially fatal.
