'I'm not saying I would have beat him but it's frustrating' - Onley rues positioning after UAE second place behind Pogacar
Briefly

Oscar Onley finished second on stage 3 of the UAE Tour, showcasing his potential against world champion Tadej Pogačar. Though slightly frustrated with his positioning in the final sprint, Onley acknowledged he was content with his performance. Picnic-PostNL's coach praised Onley's effort despite the close competition, as the young Scot gained vital bonus seconds. Onley looks forward to improving his general classification position with an eye on upcoming stages, particularly Jebel Hafeet, which he feels suits his climbing style better.
I had more, to be honest, I should have just gone on Pog's wheel. I'm not saying I would have beat him but yeah, it's a bit frustrating.
Oscar did a really nice effort and was able to grab second place, which is a nice reward. Of course, you always want to win but when it needs the best rider in the world to keep you from winning, then you have to be satisfied with second place as well.
That's a different climb but it probably suits me better. It's a bit steeper and a bit shorter, we'll have to just see how it goes over the next couple of days.
