Geraint Thomas recently completed a five-week trip to Australia participating in the Cadel Evans Great Ocean Road Race. Despite suffering from illness during the Tour Down Under, he values the trip for the training it provided and the opportunity to spend time with family. Recognizing that he is not yet at peak performance, Thomas notes the sentimental importance of this trip as he prepares for his final racing season. He plans to return to Monaco for focused training to address his current physical challenges.
This has definitely been a good block of training, obviously wasn't ideal feeling a bit crook going into Down Under.
Just love coming down here ... just good, consistent training. You can come with the family and have a bit of a life off the bike.
