Continental has expanded its mountain bike tire offerings by introducing SuperSoft rubber compound options for its Kryptotal Fr and Argotal tires, specifically designed for improved winter conditions. However, these new options are currently only available in 29" x 2.4" sizes, leaving 27.5" wheel users without the softer compound choices. The company noted the demand from riders for lighter casing options and responded with new Variants. The Enduro casing features multiple layers for robustness and flexibility, making the new tires ideal for unpredictable conditions.
Since launching the Gravity range, it's been really exciting to see how riders have been mixing and matching different combinations of tires from the portfolio. We received many messages on social media and at events specifically asking us to extend our range to include softer compound options in lighter casings," Said Alexander Haenke, the MTB Product Manager at Continental Tires. "Well, you asked, and we listened. We're excited to introduce the SuperSoft compound in our Enduro casing, as well as adding more sizes and variants to the range. Now riders have even more flexibility for optimizing their setup.
The Continental Enduro casing is comprised of three layers of carcass material (each with 110 TPI) under the tread for robustness and puncture protection, two layers of carcass material in the sidewall for suppleness and adaptivity, a foldable Aramid Bead, and a cross-woven fabric to increase durability against cuts.
With half the layers of the DH casing option (the comparison is shown in the cutouts below), the new SuperSoft Enduro tires will be a welcome addition to those who prioritize earning turns in unpredictable spring conditions.
