Geraint Thomas crashed during stage 3 of the Tour de Suisse after hitting a bump in the road. Despite the painful fall, where he injured his knee and hamstring, he quickly resumed cycling with the help of teammates Bob Jungels, Andrew August, and Lucas Hamilton, who aided in bringing him back to the peloton. As the race progressed towards the Appenzell climb, Thomas experienced some difficulties but ultimately finished the race with his team, acknowledging soreness but reporting he was okay post-race.
I just hit a lip on the side of the road, really. It's my fault. Then I just kind of got my foot caught behind me, and I twisted my knee and my hamstring.
It was a 'slow-motion' spill... Thomas was the only rider to go down, apparently a self-inflicted crash as he hit the edge of the pavement.
