The Amstel Gold Race will reintroduce the iconic Cauberg climb for both men's and women's races in 2025, significantly impacting race strategy. The men's race will cover 256.5 kilometers starting in Maastricht, incorporating famous Limburg climbs and featuring the Cauberg ascended three times. The women's race will include five climbs of the Cauberg over 157.9 kilometers. Race director Leo van Vliet emphasized the climb's invigorating effect on the race dynamic, setting up a thrilling conclusion for fans and participants alike.
The Cauberg of course has something magical. With the type of riders nowadays that start their final many kilometers from the end and then also the climb of the Cauberg at only two kilometers from the end, we again expect a thrilling final.
