Cameron Scott turns back to track after WorldTour run cut short
Briefly

Cameron Scott, after two years in the WorldTour, finds himself reassessing his career due to the recent contract shuffle impacting many riders. At 27, he maintains a pragmatic view of his situation. Recently, he secured a strong second-place finish in the Melbourne to Warrnambool race, showcasing his talent with the CCache x Bodywrap Continental team. With an increasing trend of younger athletes dominating the sport, Scott is considering alternative paths, including a return to track racing, where he aims to find renewed passion and prepare for upcoming competitions like the World Championships and possibly the Olympics.
It's just the way the sport's going at the moment, it's getting younger and younger and the older you get the harder it is to keep your contract so I just have to accept that and take what I can get.
It's not the ideal scenario, but you know sometimes it just goes like that.
I'll be doing a bit of track racing. I haven't done it for many years, so to get back on the track and kind of find that love for it again.
The race was at the end of an initial road race block that had started with a second place in the criterium at the AusCycling Road National Championships.
