BMX riders embody the philosophy that a bike is a tool, not a jewel more than any other discipline in this world. These guys and gals are out here doing anything and sacrificing any bike for the clip.
Tate Roskelley fully embraces that philosophy in this clip he put up last week. The balance that it would take to get all the way down that set backward, brakeless, and skidding the front wheel is wild.
Also, let's take a moment to point out and appreciate that Tate is riding street BMX with a helmet. Novel concept, I know, but it is frankly confusing how riding street without a bucket is still the prevalent fashion in 2024 especially given all we know about head injuries these days.
I hope we can encourage at least one or two people to consider putting a helmet on when they go ride BMX.
