Both the Santa Cruz Syndicate and the Canyon Cllctv wore the new SpeedSuits in round one. In its first World Cup, riders wearing the new SpeedSuit had some stellar results. In the men's field, Canyon's Troy Brosnan rode to second while his teammate Luca Shaw was fifth. For the women, Nina Hoffman and Tahnée Seagrave were second and third wearing the suit.
At Fort William there was one striking setup choice that yielded results: Dakota Norton's high rise bars. Compared to other racers' bikes, Dakota's bars are almost comically high, with a 75-millimeter (!) rise. Dakota backed it up and finished in fourth.
