The art scene around Potsdamer Straße during Gallery Weekend is increasingly vibrant, featuring many galleries within a short distance. New additions like Rosegarden, with its impactful exhibition by Spyros Rennt on intimacy and queerness, are noteworthy. Another highlight is Die Tankstelle, which now houses showcases from Pace and Galerie Judin, including iconic works by Tom of Finland. The atmosphere is playful, with spaces like Schiefe Zähne bringing a creative, under-construction aesthetic that enhances viewer engagement with emerging artists.
This year especially, it felt like the district could warrant its own spin-off event.
Rosegarden, a cultural venue just launched by the platform Frontrose, debuted with 'Kiss Against the Fire,' Spyros Rennt's biggest solo show to date.
Pace, which operates eight other locations worldwide, set up their Berlin base in this architectural gem after having expanded its presence in the city over the past two years.
There was fun to be had at Schiefe Zähne, too-a gallery with a fun name and a fun show to match.
