Blue Lake Announces New Album The Animal, Shares New Song "Cut Paper"
Briefly

Jason Dungan announced his upcoming studio LP, set to release on October 3 via Tonal Union. This album marks his first project recorded with a full band in a studio, following a mini-album released in January. Produced by Dungan and Aske Zidore, and mixed by Jeff Zeigler, the lead single is titled "Cut Paper". Dungan reflects on the interconnectedness of humans and the animal environment, emphasizing the complexity of nature intertwined with human influence. He believes that understanding animal communication and relationships offers a different perspective on nature's dynamic presence.
Dungan stated, "I'm quite fascinated in thinking about humans more as part of the animal environment and not as something that's so separated into a 'human' realm."
He added, "I don't think it's possible now to think about nature as a pure or isolated thing. Being around animals in this setting, I think about how they communicate with each other, forge relationships, and navigate the city, but all without language."
